Scanmetals strengthens the management structure with Deputy CEO Role to enable Founder Ejvind Pedersen to Focus on Business Development
Under the leadership of Ejvind Pedersen, Scanmetals has grown into one of Europe’s leading metal recyclers. Scanmetals now operates six processing sites, employs nearly 300 staff, and has a turnover of over DKK 1.3 billion. With recent expansions, including the establishment of a new facility in Zaragoza, Spain, and the acquisition of Afatek, Scanmetals is well-positioned for continued growth.
In response to the increasing demands of this growth and to allow Ejvind Pedersen to focus 100% on business development, Scanmetals is undergoing a leadership transition. As part of this, Mikkel K. Andersen was appointed Chairman of the Board in December 2024, and on February 3rd, 2025, Lars Fuglsang joined Scanmetals as Deputy CEO.
On May 1st 2025 Lars Fuglsang will take up the position of CEO and Ejvind will focus on development of Scanmetals’ operations and new projects. Ejvind will remain on the board of directors of Scanmetals A/S and a key shareholder in the company.
Lars Fuglsang is a mechanical engineer and has extensive experience of the renewable energy sector. He previously worked for LM Wind Power, GE Renewable Energy and latterly Fiberline Composites. Lars Fuglsang was chosen because of his passion for engineering and materials, combined with his strong leadership skills and track record of success in previous roles. His leadership and business expertise will be key to guiding Scanmetals in its next phase of growth and development.
